What's a Golfer's Elbow?
When you're suffering from a golfer's elbow, the place where your lower arm muscles attach to the elbow, is irritated. This is also called, the inner elbow knob. While making certain movements, this spot can be very painful. A golfer's elbow can occur when the lower arm muscles become overused. This happens when one constantly makes the same movement or suddenly puts the elbow under heavy pressure without preparation. A painful feeling can be experienced when you squeeze your hand, bend your wrist forward or turn your lower arm inwards.
Symptoms
- Sharp pain on the inside of the elbow
- Pain when squeezing your hand
- Pain when bending the wrist forward
- Pain when turning the lower arm inwards
- Pressure on the inside of the elbow can worsen the complaints
- Sometimes, pain can radiate down to the lower arm
