The Type IIR 3 layer medical mouth mask is specifically designed to maximally protect professionals and is the moisture-resistant version of the Type 2 and in addition to the filtering, it also contains an additional moisture-resistant layer! It is meant for additional protection of the nasal and oral mucosa from splashes of body fluids and provides the professional with optimal protection and safety. Medical Type IIR mouth-nose masks must comply with the Medical Devices Directive and with the NEN-EN 14683 standard and you will find all associated certificates and reports in the appendix.

At the moment, there are three different types of surgical mouth masks: 

• Type I mouth mask: meant for clients, not for employees.
• Type II mouth mask: for use by employees where a mouth and nose mask is required, but where there is no risk of splashing bodily fluids.
• Type IIR mouth mask: this is the non-moisture-permeable variant. The Type IIR offers optimal protection and is for extra protection of the nasal and oral mucosa against splashes of body fluids.

The type IIR is provided with 3 different types of absorption layers that will ensure that particles in the air do not end up in your lungs. Conversely, the mask also prevents the spread of moisture particles. 

1. Layer 1: Absorbs moisture from the breath.
2. Layer 2: Filters bacteria while breathing in and out.
3. Layer 3: Reduces exposure to hazardous substances.

• Suitable for daily use. Mainly due to the very light weight and high wearing comfort. 
• Made of non-woven fabric for optimal protection.
• Includes a loop which makes it easy to put on. 
• Aluminum, foldable nose bridge for optimal fit.
