Chilblain means that you have to deal with bruises, red swellings and/or hematomas on the feet due to the cold. This is why it is also called winter feet. These annoying swellings can be painful and also very itchy.
It also happens that these swellings occur on the toes or hands. These are then also called chilblains or winter hands. The swellings are also painful and itchy for chilblains and winter hands.
How does it originate?

As the blood vessels are temporarily constricted by the cold, the blood accumulates and causes bruising and redness. These are the spots that eventually cause those unpleasant symptoms.
